For 5 years in a row, Fort Pitt Capital Group is pleased to have the opportunity to be a silver sponsor for the JDRF Gala and the 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes. The charity walk, which will take place on September 21 in Schenley Park, benefits JDRF—an organization that focuses on raising awareness and funding research for type 1 diabetes.
Mike Blehar, who has been a chairman for the walk in 2010, 2011 and 2012, will join this year as a member of the development committee and major gifts committee.
As outlined on the JDRF website, the mission of the group is to “improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.” Founded more than 40 years ago, the organization holds over 200 walks across the nation each year and has raised $1.7 billion.
